Dancing Mask: The ANA Story to be Screened in American and
Nigerian Universities.
Tee Jay Dan, director of ‘Dancing
Mask; The ANA Story’ had on the 12th of March 2018, a consultation with Anita
Long, President of Long Films Studios. Anita is also the immediate past
president of Women in Film and Television Houston.
The consultation bothered around such subjects like screenings of the film across some universities and black colleges in the United States; speaking opportunities for Tee Jay Dan; a literary exchange programme between the Association of Nigeria Authors and literary societies in America, as well as the artistic advancement of the 28 year old director.
As a result of the session, the Association of Nigeria Authors will organize screenings across the country, especially for students of literature. This would provide exposure for the film as well as attract younger members to the association. Dancing Mask; The ANA Story would also be submitted to the library of congress and other European festivals.
The session with Anita Long was arranged by the West African Film Festival as part of the grand prizes Tee Jay’s documentary film won. Dancing Mask; The ANA Story is a documentary film about the largest body of writers in Africa, founded by Professors Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka and other Nigerian first generation writers. The film received an official selection laurel from the West African Film Festival earlier in February and it screened in one of the festival's locations in Houston, Texas.
The film had a six million naira production budget with support from the Pan African Writers Association (PAWA).
