ANA conducts Nationwide Membership Registration and Database Collection


ANA CONDUCTS NATIONWIDE MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION AND DATABASE COLLECTION





In a bid to streamline its membership structure and get a comprehensive data on its members nationwide, the National Executive Council of the Association of ANigerian Authors(ANA) has given its chapters in the various states of the Federation and the FCT the following guidelines on membership registration and documentation:

1. Chapters who have not submitted their membership data forms should do so by advising their members to download the form from the download page of the ANA website www.ana-nigeria.com,fill accordingly and submit to the chapter's secretariat for onward transmission to the National Secretariat not beyond 31st of March,2019.
2. All completed forms should be sent to the General Secretary. Association of Nigerian Authors,PMB 518 Garki,Abuja or KM 2 Mamman Vatsa Writers'Village,Mpape,Abuja..
3.Chapters who have earlier submitted the forms but want to update can do same
4. Chapters should be reminded that their being considered for  participation in the Yusuf/Ali project for the year  2019 will be predicated on their  compliance with the membership data forms submission.
5. Chapters should note that the data gathered from the exercise will form the valid chapters' data for the conduct of elections at the coming convention of the Association in October,2019. The national secretariat will also be producing  membership  ID cards for members from information received from chapters
6. The National Secretariat holds this exercise with utmost importance as it not cannot continue to have an Association without valid membership data.

ANA APPOINTS SOLE ADMINISTRATORS TO REVIVE AILING CHAPTERS



In the National Executive Council meeting of the Association of Nigerian Authors(ANA) held in Abuja on the 26th of January,2019, the issue of non-functioning chapters of the Association  and chapters where elections have not been held for years were rigorously discussed. At the meeting, the house resolved to appoint sole administrators for the following chapters :

1.      Ondo Chapter-Prof Kole Omotoso(Former ANA President, Trustee), Elizade University,Ilara-Mokin in Ondo State.
2.      Nasarawa Chapter- Prof Idris Amali of Federal University,Lafia
3.      Gombe Chapter – Prof Nereus Tadi of Gombe State,University.
4.      Sokoto Chapter- Prof Asabe Kabir Usman of Usman Danfodiyo University,Sokoto
5.      Kaduna Chapter- Dr Audee T. Giwa of Kaduna State University,Kaduna
6.      Bauchi chapter-Umar Saleh Gwani
7.      Anambra Chapter- Appointment put on hold but  the chapter given not later than 31st March to conduct elections.


The Sole administrators who are all members of the Association have been given the following terms of reference to execute within 3 months:

a.       Building consensus among the members of the Association in the State
b.      Ascertaining the authenticity of the membership structure of the chapter for future reference.
c.       Arrange in close liaison with the National Executive Council, the conduct of a fresh election for the chapter within the stipulated period.
The appointments have since been officially communicated to the persons involved and they have since started work. ANA calls on all members in the chapters concerned to give maximum cooperation to the sole administrators in their bid to revive ANA operations in those stated States.
