The National President
of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Mallam Denja Abdulahi has
congratulated the Muslim community on the successful completion of this year’s
Ramadan fast. He reiterated the well-known sermon that fasting , of all
religious observances ,is the one done by man seeking only the pleasure of God.
He enjoined the faithfuls that have kept the fast with the fear of God in their
hearts to extend same to their daily activities and interaction with others in
the society.
The President of ANA further enjoined all Nigerians to imbibe the
virtues of the holy month of Ramadan such as restrain, control of bodily
desires, charity, mercy , peace and focus in dealing with existential problems
of living in the country.
This was contained in a
Ramadan message made available to newsmen in Abuja today.
Mallam Denja Abdullahi
further enjoined Muslim faithfuls not to relent in praying for Nigeria in these
trying times of communal conflicts, economic depression, terrorism ,
kidnapping, armed robbery and other menace plaguing the country. The President
of ANA said that it is only in an atmosphere of peace, security and good
neighborliness that meaningful development can take place.
Mallam Denja Abdulahi
reiterated his administration’s determination to continue to discharge its duty
as enshrined in the Association’s constitution and the Strategic Plan Document
in all circumstance.
He promised not to
waver in the march towards making the Association independent, self-accountable
, self-sustainable and relevant in the drive towards building an egalitarian
society in Nigeria. The Message finally congratulated Muslims on the successful
completion of the Ramadan fast while urging them to use the lessons learnt to
show love for Muslims and non-Muslims for peace and progress of the country.
