ANA unveils logo ahead of October Convention


ANA UNVEILS LOGO AHEAD OF OCTOBER CONVENTION

Ahead of the October 2018 annual national Convention of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), a logo for the convention has been officially unveiled.
The logo which includes two circular lines framed inside with the beautiful diagram of Eyo Masquerade holding a pen in brilliant re-representation of the original opambata staff normally held by the eyo.

Eyo Masquerade is a cultural symbol of Lagos. Eyo also referred to the costumed dancers, known as the masquerades that come out during the Eyo festival.
Eyo festival otherwise known as the Adamu Orisha play, is a festival unique to Lagos, Nigeria. It is always presented by the people of Lagos to mark the rite of passage of a distinguished personage of lagos or to mark an historic event.The last time a special logo was used for an ANA convention was for the 35th Anniversary Convention of ANA which held in Abuja in 2016.

While unveiling the logo via his Facebook account, the national President of ANA, Mallam Denja Abdulahi said the theme for this year convention is " Literature: Megacities and Mega Narratives” and the keynote speaker is Prof. Karen King Aribisala of the University of Lagos.

The national convention which will take place between 25th-28th October 2018 will feature renowned writers across and outside the country.

It would be recalled that ANA National body led by the National President, Mallam Denja Abdulahi in the company of the National Asst. Secretary, Mr. Maik Ortserga and the National Publicity Secretary (South) Mr, Wole Adedoyin held a strategic meeting last month with the ANA Lagos LOC members. The meeting which unveiled the details of the chapter’s level of preparedness involving the welcome cocktail, grand opening ceremony, the convention drama, annual general meeting (AGM), accommodation for delegates and special guests, publicity, security, exhibition, transport and logistics, grand awards dinner among others.The chapter as a prelude to the convention held a very successful patrons' night last Sunday at the Freedom Park in Lagos.
