ANA Enugu wins bid to host 38th Annual International Convention


ANA ENUGU WINS BID TO HOST 38TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION



The Coal City, Enugu State has won the bid to host the 38th Annual International Convention of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) holding from 31st October -3rd November, 2019 with the theme " Literature, Nationalism and the Poetics of Integration."


This was contained in a letter dated 27th of May 2019, addressed to the Chairman of ANA Enugu State Chapter, Chief Zulu Ofolue by the National President of the association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Mallam Denja Abdulahi.

According to Mallam Denja Abdulahi, “It is our belief that ANA Enugu can execute a superlative convention which will be an event of cultural pride to the historically and culturally rich State which would be a veritable selling point to the over 300 writers, journalists and intellectuals from home and abroad that would be attending the convention.”

The decision of giving the hosting right of ANA’s Convention was made after ANA Enugu and her members assured the Association of the support from Enugu State Government, well- meaning individuals and the academic community and corporate organizations in Enugu State for the Convention. The bid which was approved by the executive and advisory organs of the Association and the National Executive looks forward to be the Nigeria’s biggest international convention of writers, come October this year.

With the approval of Enugu Chapter as the host for this year ANA Convention, that means more than 300 ANA members within and outside the country are set to converge in Enugu for this year Convention. It is also expected that the LOC for the convention should be formally inaugurated to begin to prepare towards the convention.
