ANA Bayelsa elects new Exco


ANA BAYELSA ELECTS NEW EXCO




The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Bayelsa State Chapter has elected an eight member executive committee (EXCO) to run the affairs of the Association in the state for two years.

The election took place during ANA Bayelsa’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) that was held last week in Yenagoa, the Capital of Bayelsa State.

ANA Bayelsa Election Organizing Committee reports that Akpoebi Adesi emerged the Chairman, while Francis Owupele was elected Secretary. The election was monitored by Mr Anaele Ihuoma, ANA National Auditor. 

In his acceptance speech, Akpoebi Adesi promised to run an open door and inclusive administration. He further solicited the unwavering support of ANA Bayelsa members to enable the new EXCO to succeed.

Other elected officials included, Amatare Mozimo (Vice Chairman), Egbenpere Ebipreye (Assistant Secretary), Adolphus Munamuna (Treasurer), Hilda Osunu (Financial Secretary), Watson Pamilola (PRO), George Haliday (Legal Adviser).
Finally, the positions of Legal Adviser, Treasurer and Assistant General Secretary were not contested for, ie the winners were unopposed.
