ANA appoints Sole Administrators to revive Ailing Chapters

ANA APPOINTS SOLE ADMINISTRATORS TO REVIVE AILING CHAPTERS

In the National Executive Council meeting of the Association of Nigerian Authors(ANA) held in Abuja on the 26^th of January,2019, the issue of non-functioning chapters of the Association  and chapters where elections have not been held for years were rigorously discussed. At the meeting, the house resolved to appoint sole administrators for the following chapters :

1.      Ondo Chapter-Prof Kole Omotoso(Former ANA President, Trustee), Elizade University,Ilara-Mokin in Ondo State.

2.      Nasarawa Chapter- Prof Idris Amali of Federal University,Lafia

3.      Gombe Chapter – Prof Nereus Tadi of Gombe State,University.

4.      Sokoto Chapter- Prof Asabe Kabir Usman of Usman Danfodiyo University,Sokoto

5.      Kaduna Chapter- Dr Audee T. Giwa of Kaduna State University,Kaduna

6.      Bauchi chapter-Umar Saleh Gwani

7.      Anambra Chapter- Appointment put on hold but  the chapter given not later than 31^st March to conduct elections.

The Sole administrators who are all members of the Association have been given the following terms of reference to execute within 3 months:

a.       Building consensus among the members of the Association in the State

b.      Ascertaining the authenticity of the membership structure of the chapter for future reference.

c.       Arrange in close liaison with the National Executive Council, the conduct of a fresh election for the chapter within the stipulated period.

The appointments have since been officially communicated to the persons involved and they have since started work. ANA calls on all members in the chapters concerned to give maximum cooperation to the sole administrators in their bid to revive ANA operations in those stated States.
