Report on the state election carried out by the Association of Nigerian Authors Plateau State

Report on the state election carried out by the Association of Nigerian Authors Plateau State

In line with the directive from ANA National regarding elections, ANA Plateau deemed it fit to comply with this directive and conduct elections in the month of April. The election which saw the emergence of members heading new positions was conducted on the 28th of April 2018.

The meeting which began at exactly 1:00pm and ended at 3:00pm was held at the Limoro Guest INN. Though the National Film Institute had earlier given the Association a written permit to make do with her premises for readings, the venue was changed due to accessibility reasons. Before the elections commenced, the house enjoyed readings from works of poetry and prose and bantered on their subject matters and social significance.

The chairman Mr Mathew Mzega charged the house on their responsibility towards the organization, the state and the nation at large. He noted that ANA Plateau had her last elections in the year 2014 and due to regrettable challenges has not been able to do so hitherto.

The positions contested for, names of the former and present holders are outlined below:

Chairman – Mr. Stanley Kavwam
Vice chairman - Mr. David Onotu
Secretary - Mr. Joseph Liman
Assistant secretary - Mr. Wazani Ijarafu
Public Relations Officer  - Mr. Steve Rwangpam
Legal Adviser Barrister - Barrister Bonlu Friday
Treasurer -  Miss Sylvia Ohiaeri
