ANA Abia holds State Convention tomorrow May 11




The annual convention of the Association of Nigerian Authors, Abia state chapter (ANA Abia) has been scheduled to hold on May 11, 2018 in Abia.

This was contained in a release jointly signed by the State Chairman of the association and the Local Organizing Chairman of the convention (LOC), Elder Nwokoma Nwaigwe and Hon. Ernest Onuoha.
The venue of the convention is Agburuike Hotel off 34 New Umuahia Road, Ogbor hill, Aba, Abia State.

The convention which promises to be an avenue for readings, networking and registration of new members into the association will start by 9am.

Report on the state election carried out by the Association of Nigerian Authors Plateau State


In line with the directive from ANA National regarding elections, ANA Plateau deemed it fit to comply with this directive and conduct elections in the month of April. The election which saw the emergence of members heading new positions was conducted on the 28th of April 2018.

The meeting which began at exactly 1:00pm and ended at 3:00pm was held at the Limoro Guest INN. Though the National Film Institute had earlier given the Association a written permit to make do with her premises for readings, the venue was changed due to accessibility reasons. Before the elections commenced, the house enjoyed readings from works of poetry and prose and bantered on their subject matters and social significance. 

The chairman Mr Mathew Mzega charged the house on their responsibility towards the organization, the state and the nation at large. He noted that ANA Plateau had her last elections in the year 2014 and due to regrettable challenges has not been able to do so hitherto.      

 The positions contested for, names of the former and present holders are outlined below:
 
Chairman – Mr. Stanley Kavwam
Vice chairman - Mr. David Onotu
Secretary - Mr. Joseph Liman
Assistant secretary - Mr. Wazani Ijarafu
Public Relations Officer  - Mr. Steve Rwangpam
Legal Adviser Barrister - Barrister Bonlu Friday
Treasurer -  Miss Sylvia Ohiaeri

Change of Guards In ANA Abuja and Niger; ANA Rivers Re-elects Chairman and Others


CHANGE OF GUARDS IN ANA ABUJA AND NIGER; ANA RIVERS RE-ELECTS CHAIRMAN AND OTHERS


 In recent weeks and in line with the democratic imperative of the current leadership of the Association at the National level, elections were  held in ANA Rivers and in ANA Abuja while ANA Niger resolved their earlier electoral imbroglio with the coming on stream of new minders through general consensus. The details of the new officers charged with the piloting of affairs in the 3 chapters are as follow:
